What to do if you are struggling to find a job in a down market...

I had a chance to grab a bite to eat at Jamie Oliver’s “15” Restaurant in London. Having an inside look at how they have been able to help men and women get back on their feet through an apprentice program is INCREDIBLE!!! While I was there I received some interesting advice that I agree with and would like to share... Enjoy!

(PS: The food was AMAZING!)

I had a chance to grab a bite to eat with Dan McCubbin (Communications Manager for Jamie Oliver). During our dinner Dan shared some incredible insights around his experience working with Mr. Oliver and all of the lessons he has learned.

He had a great piece of advice for anyone who is currently struggling to find a job or not happy in the job they have. His advice... “Go volunteer at something you do love!

There are two benefits...

  1. You are going to be surrounding yourself with people that (most of the time) have their life and business sorted and want to give back and make a difference. It would be intelligent to learn from these people.
  2. You would have an opportunity to be involved with something you love, are passionate about and really believe in... This is a great way to get some passion back in your life!

More about 15 Restaurant...

In 2002, Jamie Oliver combined two ambitions: to open a top class restaurant and to give disadvantaged youngsters the chance to gain professional training that would set them up for an independent, inspired and productive life. Five years on, Fifteen is still achieving both, improving and expanding all the time.

This social enterprise has entertained hundreds of thousands of people who have loved our fantastic food; their custom and support has directly helped transform the lives of our apprentices.

We’ve grown so much, now running Fifteen restaurants (each with their own foundation and apprenticeship schemes) in Amsterdam, Cornwall and Melbourne. And there’s so much more we can do.

“If you're not 100% in love with with you do...”

Gary Vaynerchuck ... He was lucky enough to get started in his family business. He Helped build it from $3 million- $50 Million dollars. One day he was driving home and realized he was .01% unhappy... and this is what happened... (Watch the Video!)

I had the opportunity to attend an AMAZING event in Las Vegas. It was the Ultimate Business Mastermind Summit. This event included some INCREDIBLE speakers. The event was hosted by Tony Robbins and Chet Holmes. Along with the power presentations that both Tony and Chet brought to the table, there were 19 other speakers that blew our minds!!

One of my favorite was Gary Vaynerchuck...

Gary Vaynerchuk has captured national attention as a businessman and Host of Wine Library TV. Gary’s fame can be attributed to his pioneering, multi-faceted approach to personal branding and business building.

I had a chance to meet up with Gary at one of his live shows at the W in San Diego and get this short clip to share with everyone! Enjoy!
